Privacy & Cookie Policy

How Fox Covert Farm looks after your information when you shop with us, and the cookies this website uses. Last updated 8 October 2026.

Who we are

Fox Covert Farm is a family farm and food producer at Kilcormac, Co. Offaly, R42 H319 (company number 673406). We run this website and shop, and we are the data controller for the personal information collected through it.

Questions about this policy or your information: email hello@foxcovertfarm.ie or call (+353) 086 1652442.

What we collect and why

Orders. When you buy from us we collect your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number and what you ordered. We use this to process and deliver your order, send order and delivery emails, handle returns and keep the records the law requires. The legal basis is performing our contract with you, and our legal obligations for tax and accounting records.

Payments. Card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and we never see or store them. Stripe also runs fraud checks (using its own cookies and, sometimes, an hCaptcha check) on product and checkout pages. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

Your account. If you create an account, we keep your details and order history so you can log in, reorder and track orders. You can ask us to close it at any time.

Newsletter. If you sign up (in the pop-up, on our signup page or by ticking the box at checkout), we send you farm news, recipes and the odd offer. The legal basis is your consent, and every email has an unsubscribe link.

Order and basket emails. After an order we send a few follow-up emails about your products and asking for a review. If you enter your email at checkout but don’t finish your order, we may send up to three reminders about your basket. These are sent on the basis of our legitimate interest in looking after our customers. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.

Contact and wholesale enquiries. If you contact us or send a wholesale enquiry, we use your details to reply and deal with your request.

Website statistics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4, WooCommerce order attribution and FunnelKit to understand how visitors find and use the shop, for example which pages lead to orders. None of this runs until you accept, and you can change your choice at any time. The legal basis is your consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We only share it with the companies we need to run the shop and deliver your order:

  • Stripe, for payments and fraud prevention.
  • Our delivery partners, who get your name, address and phone number to deliver your parcel.
  • Our website provider and hosting company, who host the site, and our email provider, which sends our emails.
  • Google, for Google Analytics (only with your consent) and for the fonts used on this site.

We may also share information where the law requires it. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, they rely on safeguards approved under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for six years, as Irish tax law requires. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Details from unfinished checkouts are kept only for as long as needed to send the basket reminders. Enquiries are kept for up to 12 months unless they lead to an order or ongoing wholesale business. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it (including for direct marketing, at any time), and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. Necessary cookies keep the shop working and are always on. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time with the cookie button in the corner of the page.

Necessary

  • jz_consent (this website, 6 months): remembers your cookie choice.
  • woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart, wp_woocommerce_session_* (this website, up to 2 days): keep your basket working.
  • __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid (Stripe, up to 1 year): fraud prevention for payments.
  • hCaptcha cookies (hCaptcha, set by Stripe’s fraud checks, short-lived): help tell people from bots.

Analytics (only if you accept)

  • _ga, _ga_ERFSQVGVXQ (Google Analytics, up to 13 months): tell visits apart and keep track of your session.
  • sbjs_* (WooCommerce, session): remember how you found us, for example a Google search, so we can see which sources lead to orders.
  • wffn_* (FunnelKit, 2 days): the same, for our checkout reports.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies will stop the basket and checkout from working.
